With the gradual increase in the voltage levels of domestic substations, the usage of SF6 high-voltage circuit breakers by power departments is currently growing at a rate of approximately 15% per year. In the fields of high voltage, extra-high voltage, and ultra-high voltage switches, SF6 gas has almost become the sole insulating and arc-quenching medium. However, most SF6 high-voltage switches are installed indoors where air circulation is relatively slow. If an SF6 gas leak occurs, it can easily lead to localized oxygen deficiency, posing significant safety hazards to staff who may suffer from oxygen deprivation. It also greatly reduces the arc-quenching effectiveness of the circuit breaker and can cause damage to the breaker itself. Therefore, once an SF6 gas leak is detected, immediate measures must be taken to accurately locate the leak, repair the leakage point, and promptly eliminate safety hazards associated with the high-voltage circuit breaker.
